Choose to become a nurse by pursuing the best training

The main mission of a nurse is to maintain or restore the health of patients, as prescribed by the doctor.

But beyond the age-old reputation for compassion and dedication, there is a highly specialized profession. Technical and scientific skills which make it possible to establish a precise diagnosis to be transmitted to the doctor, a self-control to assist the surgeon in a professional manner and a sense of commitment.

In Malaysia, to exercise this profession, it is essential to follow a nursing training and obtain a diploma from kolej kejururawatan. Focus on the curriculum.

Presentation of the nursing profession

In a hospital or any other medical environment, the presence of a nurse is reassuring. If the doctor is often perceived as inaccessible, the nurse is rather seen as a friend who supports us in times of hardship. In the maternity wards, she takes care of the babies in the incubators. In palliative care units, it is this human presence that accompanies patients on their last journey.

Among the most common nursing services are:

  • Drug distribution
  • The injections or the installation of infusions
  • Blood tests
  • The dressings.

In general, the nurse monitors the evolution of the patient’s state of health and morale. It reacts promptly in the event of anomalies.

A nurse must have a very keen sense of communication, to dialogue with the patient and establish a climate of trust , to transmit a medical file to her colleagues and the caregiver and to report to her superiors.

A liberal nurse works at home or comes to the homes of people who need her care.

Others choose to work in the early childhood field or in a school setting. Or in sports centers, the army or companies.

The training to follow to work in Malaysia

Nursing training lasts 3 years. It is divided into modules of 20 weeks per semester, with theoretical training and clinical training. Students must complete internships before presenting their TFE or End of Study Work.

At the end of the training, those who have succeeded and acquired the necessary skills are awarded the valuable State Nursing Diploma. After a few years of practice and a final exam, specializations are possible to become: a nurse anesthetist, a nurse in the operating room (or holds a Deib State diploma in operating theater nurse) after two years of practice or nurse / pediatric nurse.

He/she can also continue his studies in university training in Nursing Sciences (master’s level). This health executive diploma allows the nurse to practice as an IPA or Advanced Practice Nurse.

Today, the State has set up a specific admission exam for health professionals in continuing vocational training who have contributed to a social protection scheme of at least three years, such as:

The auxiliary childcare and health aides who want retraining and become a nurse or nurse

The nurses of higher education who wish to become state public officials.

Specialists argue that the nurse is the most complete person there is. With a perfect balance between heart and mind. A heart filled with compassion and intuition to understand the needs of the patient. And an intelligent mind containing the learning to practice the profession with a scientific approach. If you recognize yourself in this portrait, do not delay in registering for a nursing school. The job is for you!
