The clinical laboratory career has the mission of training graduates in clinical laboratory with ethical and humanistic values, with the ability to base, interpret and apply the processes, methods and diagnostic techniques in biological samples through biotechnology. This is to issue validated results and trustworthy in order to contribute with health personnel in processes of prevention, prognosis, diagnosis, and therapeutic control of health problems. It is at the local, regional, national and international levels framed with the epidemiological profile and with administrative competencies, business entrepreneurship, integrating to the inter and multidisciplinary health team in investigative processes aligning with the objectives of the national plan for good living.
Integral training objective of the career
To train graduates in clinical laboratory with the ability to base, interpret and apply diagnostic methods and techniques in biological samples according to the development of science and technology, without forgetting bioethics, validating and issuing reliable results in order to contribute to health personnel in processes of prevention, prognosis, diagnosis and therapeutic control of health problems at the local, regional and national level framed with the epidemiological profile.
Respects the human being using ethical principles and norms, understanding the social and cultural diversity of the individual in the family, community and environmental context, to interact with patients, the health team and the community.
Build the physiological foundations to understand the health-disease process that contributes to the diagnosis; and technical concepts in the correct handling of clinical laboratory equipment and instruments.
It integrates the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary team with effective cooperation, communication and skills to improve health conditions and prevalent diseases, according to the results obtained in the laboratory and research, to solve the needs of the population.
Uses systemic, constructive, critical, creative learning supported by new information and communication technologies when participating in the implementation of policies of the national health system according to the phc approaches; allowing to strengthen self-learning and ongoing training.
Validates the results obtained according to quality standards, in order to issue a reliable report that contributes to the diagnosis, prognosis, treatment and control of diseases.
